ATTN: ChristianBlogSites Blog Owners-Critical Post
administrator | November 13, 2011 08:31

This is for all ChristianBlogSites.com blog owners.

It has been the policy of ChristianBlogSites.com (CBS) to not have annoying ads on blog sites. We do not sell ad space to any organization. (For most 'free' blog sites, ads are the means to be able to offer free blog sites.)
Until 2009 we did not charge for blogs. For new subscribers I charge an annual fee of $5 a year. However most subscribers continue their blogs without paying the $5 annual fee. Thus, annual fees do not cover CBS expenses.

In order to cover CBS expenses and to help support the non-profit ministry of Fairhaven House and There is Hope Radio-ministries we have decided to raise funds for the ministry by selling 'It's okay to say Merry Christmas" buttons. The net profits from the button sales will go directly to covering CBS expenses and helping the addicted. (I as the program director of Fairhaven House and There is Hope Radio do not receive any income from the ministry). Check out www.tihr.org.

I (CBS) has decided to place an ad on the bottom (footer) of all blogs promoting the "It's Okay to Say Merry Christmas" button. Go to http://www.christianblogsites.com/blog/new-footer.html to see what the ad would look like:

I understand that there may be some blog owners that do not believe in Christmas, or would find it very disturbing for the ad to be on the footer of their blog. We are providing an option for those who do not want the ad on their blog. For $10 (one-time fee) we will remove the ad from your blog template.

If you do not care if the button ad is at the bottom of your blog, do nothing.

If you do not want any ads to appear on your blog then go to http://www.fairhavenhouse.info/store/remove-blog-p-260.html . You will be charged $10. When placing your order be sure to enter in the comment section your blog username and title.

If you do not believe in Christmas please do not email me all the 'proof texts' that is sin to celebrate Christmas. I have heard all of the arguments. I know that Jesus was not born on Dec 25. I know that there were pagans that worshipped trees. I know there is no proof of three wise men, etc. etc. I also know that there are no Scriptures that say it is sin to honor the birth of our Savior (In fact Scripture states that the angels celebrated His birth). Those who have Christmas tress are not worshipping the tree. Yes I know the Christmas season has become materialistic. However, at the same time as Christians we can use the season to proclaim the Gospel. Those who may never hear the Gospel otherwise go to Christmas pagaents, and hear the Gospel message. Christmas proclaims the deity of Jesus Christ (Emmanuel, God with us).

Whether you believe in celebrating Christmas or not, I would encourage everyone to use the upcoming season as a means to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The truth is more people are open to the Gospel during the Christmas season.

Recap
If you don't mind the button ad, do nothing.
If you do not want the button ad on your blog, then go to http://www.fairhavenhouse.info/store/remove-blog-p-260.html and we will remove ads from your blog.

Please do not send me emails about Christmas. (Also in the past we had bloggers that were demeaning, hateful, and antagonsitic towards those who celebrate Christmas. This type of behavior in unacceptable and violates CBS policies. Bloggers that practice this behavior will have their account terminated.)

Christmas button ad [Reply]

Hello Richard, I have no problem with the Christmas Button ad on my blog. I know the date isn't Christ's birthday, yet as a child of my God through Jesus, I take this calendar holiday as a good opportunity to talk about the birth of our Lord. Many people are more receptive to listen to the gospel around this holiday where they would not be at any other time. I say Merry Christmas to as many as I can at this time of year since many store clerks or people in public jobs are forbidden to say it.
I also do not mind promoting your ministries.

Thanks for your support and your comments.

I certainly understand why some Christians may have problems with the Christmas season. I would even agree with them on some things. However, I believe that it is a time when you can 'get away with' talking about Jesus and sharing the Gospel. We should take advantage of these opportunities as long as we are not sinning. No where in the bible does it say it is sinful to recognize the birth of our Savior. In fact, God the Father had angels proclaim Jesus birth.

I don't like the Santa Clause stuff, but that can even be used to proclaim the Gospel. If you have an evangelistic heart you will ind ways to share the Gospel within the culture you live in. That is what Apostle Paul did in Athens, a place of paganism.

We have not received any complaints from bloggers stating they do not want the buton ad. So we will be adding it to blog templates today. So there may be a few glitches while doing this.

I am sure once we do this there will be a few that may complain. Hopefully they will read this post or read the email we sent so they can see there is an option to have the ad removed.
