Thanks for for the quick encouraging video. I was actually thinking about this very mom vs. dad thing last night, as my eldest daughter and wife sat outside last night for a couple of hours talking. My middle daughter left with her beau to go to his house for his father's day celebration with his own dad, and my youngest daughter left for a soccer meeting at Fresno State. I have three daughters and no sons. I have a son-in-law as of March 2008. He is a firefighter, and had to work last night. Maybe next father's day we will have some time together. I hope you had a great father's day. I sure did.

Our pastor spoke on how fathers (men) are the only ones who can truly affirm men. He used the example of Jacob. His affirmation was coming from his mother instead of his father and there was much dysfunction in the home. Our pastor also shared that daughters need affirmation from their fathers. Yesterday I watched a short clip from a message by Ed Young talking about men being a covering for their wives and children. He used an example of an umbrella and how men need to be carrying the umbrella. It was a great illusration. I will make a post about it.
