Upset with elections?

I am sure there are many Christians who are Republicans that are upset with the election results. I will post more on this subject, but wanted to get a quick post in on this.
If we understand purity, holiness, righteousness, sincerity, and honesty, then we understand it takes more than a candidate who says he is pro-life, anti gay marriage, etc. The bottom line is the republicans were hurt because many of the incumbents were very dishonest men and there were many coverups by the republican party.
To be be quite honest, this election overall really was an election of voting for the lesser of two evils in many states. What is sad is many of the republicans would state there are supportive of Christian values, but I guess they forgot about the values of honesty, integrity, and morality.

I agree with you. However, while we had a few bad apples...the Left is full of them. They have pulled a coup in this country, systematically removing Republican leadership. Some of the assaults were pure lies. This is how they play the game. They will not let go of their power. Any Republican that looks as if they could hinder their return will be taken out. Gingrich - sold his book for a million he goes - Hillary 8 million, she stays. Trent Lott - honored a retired 100 year old - called a racist. Left's leader - Byrd. Steel's campaign - left throw oreos at him. Tom Delay - no real charges - delayed any trial -probably will be dropped. Foley was not about getting Foley. It was about getting Hastert. Bush - endless Rumsfeld - same Cheney - same Wilson's deal - proved a set up. No laws broken - yet there was an indictment against a man who had no reason to lie. Prosecutor knew the leaker from day one - charade. Allen - Didn't know meaning of Macacca. Neither did the newspaper at first. Then accused of using the "N" word. Later retracted by accuser. Webb - used to drive around call blacks "N" and then point toy guns at them and drive off. Santorum - total assasination on his character Bolton - same thing... The Left has their rightful position back. They will not let it go. All who oppose will be destroyed. They don't have to be truthful charges. Look for endless charges from their oversight committees. Hopefully, they will overplay their hands. Not sure they will. You can bet, we will have few left standing by 2008. So - if you think it was a vote against corruption - it was, but most of it was made up and never panned out. On the other hand - they got their power back - and pay back is about to take place. Food for thought. LES

Yes, the left may use many immoral tactics to attack. Yes, many times they are very hypocritical in their attacks. The Foley situation is certainly proof of that. There are democrats who are still in office who have done worse things. But, here is my point. The best way for the Republicans or anybody else to stand against false accusations, mean spirited attacks, and hypocritical attacks is not to provide the fuel for the attacks. Hastert knew about Foley, but did nothing. (Probably was hoping to deal with it after elections-a political decision, not a moral decision.) It doesn't matter that Democrats were are worse. What Foley did is wrong and Hastert's handling of it is even more wrong. Republicans/Christians need to stop lessening the sins of their own group by putting to the worse sins of their opponents. If you don't like people 'digging up your dirty laundry' be careful what you do with your laundry. As Christians (and politicians who claim to support morality), we need to live our lives in holiness, purity, and integrity. We have no excuse for immoral behavior when the God of heaven has given us His Holy Spirit to walk in holiness. Do we all sin? Yes. Do we all fall short? Yes. But there is no excuse for Foley's actions. Did it hurt the Republican party? Yes. Instead of being mad at the Democrats for being hypocritical in their attacks, we should be more mad at the Republicans for being hypocritical-they claim to be the moral party. Bottom Line-God's judgment is coming. He is judging the politicians, America, and the Church (Haggard scandal). Before pointing fingers at Republicans or Democrats we need to look at our own lives. The reality we should live or life in such a way that there could be a camera on us 24 hours a day. Yes there may be some things we would be ashamed of, but certainly should not be scandal material.

I am sure many Democrats are Christians and are angry with both partys. Both are divided. There is not independent party in sight, so we are left to vote for the lesser of two evils.
