The Hill for Jesus Ministry Update

The ministry on Capitol Hill has been changing. Some of it has been on our part and some of it has occurred through circumstances.
Instead of doing ongoing outreach on the hill (other than once a week), we have been attending various government and community meetings sharing biblical principles on how these agencies can be more effective in helping people. God has given us favor with various individuals. If we had more time we could do much more in this area.
For the last couple of months we have been focusing on working mainly with individuals who truly desire change in their life. We have a few individuals that we mentor on a regular basis.
We also have some Christian individuals who seek our counsel regarding ministering to drug addicts. So we may not be ministering directly, but we are helping others to minister.
We are actively involved with the SPD Chaplaincy program and have a good report with the Head Chaplain. We have gone out on death notifications, suicide call, police shooting, and horrific stabbing incident. Every time we respond, we are challenged of how to be effective in ministering to others. I am always crying out to God for guidance.
In the midst of all this, we are starting to do outreach in the Kent area. Our church Victory Life Center, is moving to Kent and it is my responsibility to lead out in outreach. Plus I am now responsible for consolidating and getting attendees connected. I also lead out in our quarterly Encounters.
So, we are in transition. What I see happening is we will be much more involved within the church and doing outreach in Kent for the next several months.
As we build up teams for Kent, we will start sending them into Capitol Hill. Will share more on this at a later time.
