When Carmi went to her 2 week check-up her doctor told the resident doctor being trained that she is doing excellent for 3 weeks after the surgery. We reminded him that it was only two weeks. He said "then you are doing excellent in your recovery."

She has almost complete recovery in her arm and shoulder movement. She only had a couple of pain pills the entire 2 weeks.

Today is her first day back to work.

If God is able to help her to recover very quickly then He certainly was capable of healing so she would not need surgery (in the past she saw Him move in a miraculous way regarding her health). But our God is a sovereign God. I like it that way. I want a God who is in control instead of me.

In the midst of all this we have come closer to each other, received more grace to work through our personal issues, and have had His peace through it all.

The final report from the doctor is that she is breast cancer free and needs no other treatment. Carmi's experience with breast cancer is so much better than what many other women have experienced. We are very thankful. Both of us know it is not because we are such wonderful, great people, but because our God is merciful and gracious.

Some see it as a tragedy that she had to have a mastectomy. We do not see it that way. Yes we wish it could have been different, but we focus on the good news not the bad news.
