We have been very busy lately. We have some individuals that Carmi and I are mentoring that are requiring much of our time, but they are growing in Christ. Lately they have been making some great changes (but with their past, it takes many great changes). The great news is that they are staying sober and starting to work on some deep rooted issues.

Over and over again we are contacted by people who we have ministered to in the past. Some come because they are in a bad spot and need help again-we have had to draw some very strong boundaries. However, others come just to tell us thank you for what we have done. We are glad we were able to help.

In the midst of all this, we have also had people question our motives, call us names, etc. It can really hurt at times (especially Carmi), but we move on an know that God uses it to mold and shape us and to make us stronger. Whenever some does something wrong to us, I always remember I do something wrong to God and He still loves me. When someone rebels against our advice, I am always reminded that I have rebelled against God's advice at times.

We have several outreaches planned for this year. In fact, we are doing several witnessing events tomorrow on Capitol Hill.

We finally have a building we can meet at once a week. We are hoping we can use it 24/7 but the problem it may not be available in a month because it is part of a church that is moving and is going to lease the entire complex. They want a great price, but we do not have the funds at the current time.

I always think of what we could do if we had the funds and the manpower. It is all in God's timing.

We are starting to be able to build a ministry team with some of those we have been mentoring. It is a long process since they have been the depressed, downtrodden, and discouraged. But praise God, we are able to take the rejected of society and make a difference in their life.

Here is something that God reminds me all the time. Even if we do not see long term success in many that we reach out to, we revealed the love of God to them and have prepared them to receive from others who share the love of God. We have planted the seeds. Also, if we have kept a drug dealer from being on the streets for six months, we probably have saved someone else's life that could have overdosed on drugs. Maybe somebody did not get into drugs because the drug dealer we pulled off the street would have got the person started on drugs.

I am taking on some additional roles at Victory Life Center besides doing The Hill for Jesus. My time is really being stretched. We are looking for the day when we can receive a salary instead of having to do ministry and several jobs to make a living.
