Carmi and I had lunch with a 'gangster' and his wife. This black young man is supposedly in the Bloods Gang, committed robbery, killed somebody, selling drugs, pimping his wife, etc. according to the mother-in-law. His wife is a call girl that is the daughter of a prostitute we are helping. We have visited with the daughter a couple of times.

The first time we meet her is at the hospital because her husband had beaten her with a golf club and broke her jaw. He did this when drunk and on drugs.

Something does not match the story we have about this young man. He does not come across as a gangster whatsoever or a gang member. We do know that he did beat his wife and we do know the daughter is a call girl. Today we just a time to build trust with both of them so that we can have input into their life.

The daughter has been going to a church for years and the husband has only gone to church a couple of times. The daughter called me and said that they want marriage counseling. In the past we told her that she should not be with the husband if he does not get help with all his issues and repent of the abuse. She agreed, but then went back with him. I spoke to her about boundaries and she said she wants the marriage to be fixed and she acknowledges that there must be boundaries.

We believe God is going to do a miraculous work in this family.
