"The heart is the happiest when it beats for others."
From God's Instruction Book
Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.John 15:13
Commentary
For those who have co-dependency issues, they need to not do so much for others. They need to learn how to take care of themselves first.
Here is something to think about-maybe you are not doing as much as you think for others even if you are co-dependent. We say that because, if you are not taking care of yourself, you will not ultimately have the ability, strength, or wisdom on what is the best thing to do for others. You may be enabling them, which is not help, but a hindrance for the other person's own recovery.
Those who do not have co-dependency issues need to take a look at their life and ask the question "Am I known for my concern for others?" If you are a Christian and you are not seen as a someone who goes out of their way to help others, then it might be time to do a heart check-up.
