"Take care of your character and your reputation will take care of itself"
For bodily exercise profits little: but godlines is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

We are the administrator of Thin for Life (www.thinforlife.info), a weight loss program. So many times we take a Bible verse and see how it might relate to weight loss.
This verse is not saying that it is bad to exercise, but what it is talking about is that there are more important things than our body. What is interesting is that when we work on building our character, we will automatically take care of our body also. For some, more important than their weight loss is to deal with their character flaws. For some it is more important to work out their relationship with God first, then their weight loss. For others they need to work out their relationship with others before their weight loss. This is why the whole-person approach is so important with weight loss. As you work out the other issues you will see more permanent success in your weight loss.
So, instead of worrying about your reputation by how you look, be more concerned about how you ARE as a person and focus on the eternal things.
