What About Halloween
administrator | October 29, 2011 15:37

As a Christian what do you think about Halloween? Is it just an innocent holiday? Is it OK for Christians to celebrate Halloween? Is there anything evil about Halloween?

I am sure Christians have different viewpoints about Halloween. The question I have for Christians is how did you come up with your perspective on Halloween? Was it based upon how you were raised? Was it based upon feelings and emotions? Or was it based upon biblical principles. Does Halloween promote a positive, uplifting environment or an environment that encourages evil? Does the secular concept of Halloween glorify God?

It's Okay to Say Merry Christmas
administrator | October 28, 2011 17:30

In just a month it will be Happy Holidays time. You know, the politically correct way of greeting someone during Christmas time. Well, I don't know about you, but for me I have never been very politically correct when it comes to my faith in Jesus Christ. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the Gospel is the power of salvation. It is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ I am alive today. It is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that my wife Carmi and I have made many sacrifices to help the addicted. It is because of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that mankind has the opportunity to spend eternity in heaven.

Birthday Wish of CBS Founder Richard Dover
administrator | October 17, 2011 06:17

I am going to be 57 years old on October 29. Now I have to admit that sounds old to me. Am I really that old? But I feel like I have at least another 20 years on this earth. Maybe less hair, less teeth, more wrinkled, more aches, but hopefully still as passionate about serving God, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and reaching those who are hopeless.

I started ChristianBlogSites as a way to counteract all the ungodly blogs that were on the Internet. Also, as a safe site that Christians could use. For many years we provided the use of the site at no charge. We now charge $5 a year to use the site (and most do not even pay the $5 a year). This no way covers the cost to keep this site functional. However, we are committed to making it available for use.

When All Hell Broke Loose
administrator | May 20, 2010 07:27

Have you believed a lie that because of your past you are too wretched of a person to be  loved by or used by God? Have you believed a lie that God or people cannot forgive you? It is a lie!!!!! If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He has cleansed you from the past. You are forgiven.

This Saturday, on There is Hope radio show I am going to be very vulnerable and share the gory details of my past. I had a 'great life' before I became a Christian. I am going to share how when I accepted Jesus into my heart that All Hell Broke Loose and how God changed this wretched man.  I had to go through His judgment fire and I got burned and smelled like smoke along the way. However, I made it through the fire and am now walking in my destiny.

I lived a life of pride, anger, depression, suicidal, yet somehow, as crazy as it sounds, I had hope I could get to the other side. I want you to know there is hope that you can get to the other side-the promised land of your destiny.

Each person reading this post has a God given destiny. Do not let your past and the lies of the devil convince you that your destiny is a life of regret, failure, hopelessness. Instead see your past as a stepping stone to enter into your God given destiny.

There is Hope!!!

Update on my wife's health
administrator | September 26, 2009 07:26

My wife Carmi just had two biopsy done on her breast. One came up as nothing. The other one is a ductile tumor. It is benign but over time it has been diagnosed that it will become cancerous. They cannot remove all of it because it is very close to a muscle. So she is going to have to receive radiation therapy every day for six weeks. The good news is that it is less than Level 1 cancer at this point.

Because this is the second ductile tumor Carmi has had (she had a mastectomy to deal with the other one), they want her to start hormonal therapy.

Another challenge is that in the midst of their exams they decided to do a cat scan of her upper chest. In the cat scan they have found some type of lump on the back side of her windpipe. They cannot determine what it is. Because of her having cancer in the past, they are very cautious and what her to have an MRI to see if they can determine if it is just a glob of fatty tissue or something to be concerned about. So, we are scheduling an MRI.

My Facebook
administrator | February 12, 2009 21:03

It has been ages since I have posted anything in my personal category. Too busy to get to it. Then I started getting people e-mailing me to be their friend on their Facebook. I ignored and ignored them since it requires me having my own Facebook account. Just sounded like more work.

Well, I guess peristence pays off because I finally gave in and got my own account. I can see how someone could get addicted to it because of all its features. What is nice about it is the fact that you can connect with people from the past and see how they are doing. But at the same time, I am not sure if I like everything being so public.

Anyways, since my wife and I just signed up and took a quick 2 night trip to Mt. Rainier (we are only 2hrs away) for a Valentine getaway, I decided to use Facebook to track our time together, post pictures, etc.

If anyone wants to check out my Facebook, just do a search for Richard D'Andrea Dover on Facebook.
