There is a post by Repair the Breach titled 'Has the Cross Been Replaced'. I wanted to comment on the post, but the blogger has comments turned off. It is too good of a post to just ignore. The jest of the post was in regards to some Charismatic churches in their area embracing the emerging church movement.
It is not only the charismatic churches. but many other groups throughout the nation are embracing this false movement. In fact, brand new non-denominational churches that are not charismatic identify themselves as an 'emerging church'. Of course, it makes sense that charismatics (tend to be more based upon feelings) would be the first to embrace the emerging church concept. Don't get mad at me, I am a very committed pentecostal/charismatic and would not be considered an evangelical. But the truth is, some charismatics jump on the bandwagon for anything new and different. Of course, there are evangelicals that run from anything new and different even if it is biblical. But I am digressing from the reason for my post.
I am sure there are many Christians who are Republicans that are upset with the election results. I will post more on this subject, but wanted to get a quick post in on this.
If we understand purity, holiness, righteousness, sincerity, and honesty, then we understand it takes more than a candidate who says he is pro-life, anti gay marriage, etc. The bottom line is the republicans were hurt because many of the incumbents were very dishonest men and there were many coverups by the republican party.

I have been posting lately about Christians and conservatives ignoring failure or winking at sin among their troops-specifically regarding political leaders. In our next post we will talk about another topic, but I ran across a couple of news articles as I was doing some web work for a client and I cannot let it slide. Most Christians leaders and conservatives ignored the entire issue. It is in regards to William J. Bennett, a strong proponent for moral values.

Back in December vice president Dick Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter' Libby Jr. was indicted by a grand jury for obstruction of justice, perjury, and making false statements.
You may ask, 'so how does that affect us as Christians'? More ways than one.

The Abramoff Scandal is very interesting. Let's look at this scandal as a Christian. As we do this, we will see there is a much bigger issue than this scandal for Christians who mainly vote Republican. I think of hypocrisy when I think about this scandal.
