Is it just me, or is it irritating to others, some of the ads that are on Christian radio stations? I know some of the radio stations have syndicated shows that come with advertising that the station has no control over if they run the syndicated shows. But then, some of the syndicated shows hosts claim to be Christians. (More)

In the last couple of weeks my mother has gotten very sick. She had a minor heart attack and she has no strength-she cannot walk on her own right now. She has had morbid obesity and emphysema. (More)

Carmi and I had lunch with a 'gangster' and his wife. This black young man is supposedly in the Bloods Gang, committed robbery, killed somebody, selling drugs, pimping his wife, etc. according to the mother-in-law. His wife is a call girl that is the daughter of a prostitute we are helping. We have visited with the daughter a couple of times.

The first time we meet her is at the hospital because her husband had beaten her with a golf club and broke her jaw. He did this when drunk and on drugs.

We had a powerful encounter at church today. It was one of the best encounters we had. At least three people were filled with the Holy Spirit. One of the participants was a woman we have been working with who has been a stripper and drug addict. Needless to say she had much emotional pain, bitterness, unforgiveness. She completed the encounter with peace, joy, and believing God loves her and has a plan for you.

This quote on determination really jumped out to me.
When you want a thing deeply, earnestly and intensely, this feeling of desire reinforces your will and arouses in you the determination to work for the desired object. When you have a distinct purpose in view, your work becomes of absorbing interest. You bend your best powers to it; you give it concentrated attention; you think of little else than the realization of this purpose; your will is stimulated into unusual activity, and as a consequence you do your work with an increasing sense of power.
