More Postiive Note

Now that a certain blogger who was spewing hateful comments and being antagonistic, judgmental, and prideful is gone, hopefully the complaining e-mails I was also receiving will stop.
I want to say thank you to all of the CBS bloggers out there who are able to walk in self-control even though all of us would acknowledge it is hard to 'hold our tongue' at times. Thank you for showing respect to other bloggers even if you disagree with them at times.
It is hard being the tough guy at times, but I have a responsibility to keep anybody else from thinking it is their job to be the 'gatekeeper' of this web site. Thank you to those who have sent me positive e-mails.
I know this site would be better if I had more time to manage it, but I think all bloggers would agree that it is nice to have a Christian site that does not have ads, banners, etc. that may promote products or concepts that are in violation of our Christian beliefs. It is my heart to never have ads on bloggers sites-even if they were Christian ads.
If there is anything that you think I should do to improve this site, then feel free to post a comment. Feedback is always helpful. As time and technology allows I will try to implement anything that would be helpful for the overall CBS blog community. (More)

Censor, Ban Policy regarding blogs and blogusers
Print View Posted by administrator, Categories [ CBS Site Updates ][ (4) Comment ] | [ (0) Trackbacks ]
There is a blogger who has insinuated that I am implementing discriminatory censorship and pushing my authority around. At the same time they say this blog site is not Christian enough. Which is it?
So, it probably is time to inform blog site users my policy in dealing with blogs.
In almost 3 years we have 'censored' 2-3 blogs. Now we have immediately deleted mmany blogs that are obviously advertising, sexually explicit, etc.
I have no time to read all the blogs. I scan the blogs and see if anything jumps out. I also depend on those who are reading the blogs to inform me if there is a user or blog that would be considered un-Christlike.
Because someone chooses to journal and not use scriptures or not do Bible Studies on this site does not make it a less Christian site. If a person wants to only post recipes it does not make it less Christian.

Disrespectful Bloggers

I have been informed that there is a blogger that is making very disrespectful comments about other bloggers. I understand they have made very hateful comments, this is called flaming in the blogging world.
This type of behavior is in violation of the guidelines of this blog site and will not be tolerated. Blog users who continue to act in this behavior will have their blog deleted and the potential of being banned from www.christianblogsites.com without any warning.
If you are a blogger who has been in violation of these guidelines, I recommend you remove such comments from your blog immediately so that your blog is not deleted. If you have made hateful comments on other blogs, contact the blog owner to remove your derogatory comments.
It is ok to disagree with other users, but it is not ok to be hateful towards those you disagree with on various issues. let's show grace and mercy to each other.

Deleting blog and templates
Print View Posted by administrator, Categories [ CBS Site Updates ][ (3) Comment ] | [ (0) Trackbacks ]
I have not had anytime to delete all the hundreds of inactive blogs on this site. So, it still may take some time for pages to load, comments to post, etc. Once these inactive blogs are deleted, things should speed up.
I still have not edited the following templates: Softblue, cbstemplate, grey. So if you use them, features may not work, and there could be some other problems.
Hopefully after this weekend I can get more work done on this site. I do this as a free service to the Christian community. I am actually an Outreach Pastor for my church and wear many other hats as needed. All my time this week is in preparing for the Encounter Weekend we have each quarter. We have seen people delivered from a variety of 'sins that so easily entangle them', at our Encounter Weekends.

Changing templates for your blog
Print View Posted by administrator, Categories [ CBS Site Updates ][ (7) Comment ] | [ (0) Trackbacks ]
I keep getting e-mails regarding individuals not being able to change their template. It appears they are not reading my posts on this, so here is another post.
DON'T DO THIS:
Don't try to change the template by going into Blog Template menu. Users do not have access to this.
DO THIS
Go into Control Centre and choose Blog Settings. Scroll down and you will see an option to change your blog template.
Also, please read the User Guide and go to FAQ's. They answer a multitude of questions.
